We’re looking for volunteer drivers across Gloucestershire

Loneliness and isolation are growing problems in the UK, especially in rural areas, and reliable transport plays a crucial role in helping people feel part of their community.

Our services simply wouldn’t run without volunteers. Every lift you give helps someone get to an appointment, see family or enjoy everyday activities many of us take for granted.

Voices from our community

Volunteer car drivers come from all backgrounds and walks of life. You use your own car, and we cover your expenses. You can give as little or as much time as you like — we’ll match journeys to your location and availability. Full training and ongoing support are provided.

Our volunteer, Heather’s story

I started volunteering six months after I retired and am now just starting my eleventh year. I really enjoy driving and like meeting new people so this is an ideal job for me. It’s lovely to know the passengers really appreciate the service. I have met some lovely people doing this job, it’s nice to feel I’ve been of some help in getting people out and about.
