Every year we celebrate the amazing contribution made by trustees for their charities and recognise the difference they make as part of Trustees’ Week.

This year we put the spotlight on a couple of our new trustees – one was Graham Hewitt. Graham sits on two sub-committees – Policy & HR and Risk & Ops.

‘I have lived in Gloucestershire for nearly 50 years and have a deep affinity with the area.

After a career in property and general management within a large corporate organisation, I felt it was important to give something back to the local community – especially to help those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged. Over the last 17 years, I’ve been involved as a trustee and governor with a variety of organisations, including as a governor within educational and NHS organisations.

Through these experiences I have found that working with local organisations to support local people offers a real sense of purpose and fulfilment. The ability to see directly the positive difference a charity can make is both rewarding and motivating.

I became a trustee of Community Connexions in April of this year. I fully appreciate how essential transport services are to the well-being of our community, and I hope that my background in local charities and health organisations will help in further developing and delivering these vital services across Gloucestershire.’Trustees’ Week is a time for us to come together to celebrate the achievements of nearly one million trustees across the UK.

Thank you Graham, for the time, commitment and effort you bring to help Community Connexions thrive. #trusteesweek
