Community Transport continues to go from strength to strength. This has been a year of consolidating transport services in Stroud and the Cotswolds and our established team of staff and volunteers have taken on additional responsibilities as our services have developed and increased. Extending our geographic coverage has made it easier to transport customers across district boundary lines and offer the opportunity for us to develop more specific targeted transport for essential shopping and hospital journeys. We now routinely share our vehicle resources for the benefit of our customers, enabling us to undertake more passenger journeys.
Looking for further opportunities to extend our service and support people of all ages with mobility issues, the continued success of our shopping services has enabled us to transport over 2000 passengers. Many of these passengers are unable to access public transport and this service has enabled them to get out in the community and not only get their essential shopping but meet up with friends and maintain their independence.
Although we have made good progress over the last 12 months it was a very difficult time with changes in legislation putting things on hold at times and we are aware that there are further changes ahead of us. Working collaboratively with other partners and charities will help us meet these challenges for the benefit of all.
Of course the above would not have been possible without a strong team of admin staff and drivers. Thank you to them for their hard work and commitment to ensure services are delivered to a high standard across the county.
