Our impact

We’re here to help people get where they need to go. From medical appointments and shopping trips to social visits, day centres and community events, our door-to-door transport makes everyday life easier. We also provide accessible travel for seaside outings, holidays, airport journeys and so much more.

This year has been a busy and exciting one for us. We launched Better Connexions to help more people enjoy leisure and wellbeing trips, welcomed new volunteer drivers and saw passenger numbers continue to rise.

Below, you’ll find a snapshot of the difference these services have made, taken from our latest annual report.

“Accessible transport is essential for health equality and independence.
Community Connexions plays a vital role in supporting the most vulnerable in our communities, and it has been inspiring to see its services grow over the past year.

Working in partnership with the NHS and the wider third sector, we have the opportunity to improve outcomes, reduce inequalities and give people access to what matters most in their lives.”

Descriptive Transcript

Two older women walk slowly towards a white Community Connections minibus. A driver in a navy shirt offers support to one of the women as they approach the side door. The film cuts to a wide aerial view of the bus driving along a suburban road lined with trees and houses. A drone shot shows the minibus pulling into a supermarket car park, moving between rows of parked cars. In the supermarket, a Community Connections volunteer wearing a yellow high visibility jacket helps an older man out of a dark blue car. The final scene shows the man seated in a wheelchair being taken towards his home.

Our passenger, Beka’s story

“I first started to use Community Connexions when I became a full time wheelchair user, and they have given me so much independence back! I never thought I would be able to go out and about and do all the things I can now do again, but thanks to Community Connexions I can!”
